	Inviting Oasis Review By: PrettyCity.com Kennedy Day Spa is an inviting oasis located in a converted bungalow on South Tampa's trendy Howard Avenue. Cobalt walls and hardwood floors give the salon an eclectic, classy, and comfortable feel. The décor is vibrant with custom detailing in all the right places. Many of the spa services are performed in cozy rooms upstairs. The reception area boasts a designer- consigner boutique for clients to browse and buy. My first service was a custom deep cleansing facial. My esthetician used products from Kennedy Day Spa's private skincare line to cleanse, exfoliate, and detoxify my pores. After applying a hydrating, she massaged my hands, arms, and neck. The best part was after the extractions she used an infrared device to kill the bacteria that causes breakouts. The device made a buzzing noise, but was painless. It also reduced the visibility of my blemishes and evened my skin tone. After my facial I sat down in the salon chair for a cut and color. My stylist Barbara, also the spa owner, suggested multi-dimensional highlights with a mix of red, brown, and dark blond. It sounded a bit too dramatic for me, but she explained a process to layer the colors so they blended and added depth to my hair. Well, I have found a new stylist- she took my hair from boring to brilliant. The highlights stand out, but are not chunky. The pieces in front are slightly lighter and shorter to frame my face. My stylist also gave me a flawless, easy-to-style haircut that looks great straight and curly. She made me a believer that a small change can make a big difference. My day at Kennedy Day Spa was not yet over. Next, I experienced my first spray tan. My esthetician applied the tanner in a steady mist from a spray applicator that is nearly identical to one used auto-body shops. Applying the tanner took five minutes, but then it had to dry for another five minutes. I was given a hand-held fan help speed the drying time. To make sure the room was not too cold, my esthetician turned a small heater on. The entire process took less than 15 minutes, and I was noticeably tan. You may be wondering what to wear for spray-tanning . . . paper panties are provided, but all other clothing is removed. Kennedy Day Spa carries hair care products by L'Oreal Professional, Redken, and Simply Pure. They also have a private-label cosmeceutical skincare line.
